Online Classes: Challenges faced by Rural Student

All educational institutions including schools and colleges could complete their academic sessions, before they were closed on March 24 due to the Corona crisis In India. During this period of lockdown, an attempt was made to complete the session through online teaching. Classes were going on in many
educational institutions and exams were pending. Controversial web platforms like Zoom were used to make middle and secondary classes online. Somewhere classes were held through Google and somewhere through Skype. Somewhere online material was created on YouTube, sometimes videos of lectures and classes were prepared and put online and sent to groups of students through WhatsApp. But most institutes are not ready for the online exam.

Online classes in rural areas student network problem

Amidst the compulsion and attraction of online studies, it is also important to know whether the country is really ready for it on the basis of numbers. According to a study, only 12 and a half percent of the families with students studying at the university have internet access in their homes. Abhirup Mukhopadhyay, Professor of Economics at the Indian Statistical Commission, in an article based on data from the National Sample Survey Organization, has said that 85 percent of urban students studying in universities have internet access, but only 41 percent of them have a home. But the same among children from rural households, only 28 percent of them have internet access at home. Such low access is a matter of great concern as 55 percent of the children studying in universities are from rural families. In such a situation, online education being given to such children through the Internet will deprive children of rural India to a large extent. Children from rural families face many challenges with online classes.

“Coronavirus has created a disruptive situation in India as well as in many other countries”. Rural areas faced a lot of trouble in online classes, through interviews it was found that everyone had only one mobile phone in their house. So they have a lot of problems because they had to go to work during the class itself. Now the situation used to be that the class of the children should think about going to their work, in this way both the work is very important. If seen, the rural family has a dual responsibility. If they do not go to their work, then it will be challenging to run the household expenses. And getting information from people that there are many such villages. Where there are a lot of network problems. In this way, children from rural or remote areas were facing problems with online classes. Many such villages were also seen which did not have Android mobiles.
They only have simple phones. They should think about their children's future, and how to give education to them, then some members of the village decided that the people who are educated here, they will give education to the children. So that there will be no interruption in the education of the children so that they will be able to continue their studies continuously. They thought of giving education through the offline mode for the education of their children and the people of the village did not let their children go away from education by planning in this way. “

Online Classes: Challenges faced by Rural Students

As the country takes to online classes, the current pandemic is impacting rural areas more than those who live in cities”. Due to the corona crisis, the stagnant world is breaking the silence. The world is slowly moving. The haunted cosmic world we've been living in since January is going to be 'busy' day by day. The Corona Crisis is going to lift the restrictions on our daily movement, school-office closures, travel, and public gatherings bans. The Corona period is a situation that is unprecedented in the history of civilization. Needless to say, a disease called Covid-19 caused that situation. Moreover, a thought or idea takes omnipresent form and eventually transforms into an ideology.
